Back!

Jet lag? What jet lag? I've been on a ten hour flight, crossed oodles of time zones, passed the international dateline, stayed at home for 5 hours, boarded another plane for Phoenix, and slept in another strange bed. What jet lag? I'm up at 5:30am and ready to go for the all day meeting.

Everyone at the meeting from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Boulder, Fort Wayne, and Washington, DC tease me about me having no idea what time it is and missing a few more pounds. I just play along with the teasing and note that a few other people nod off to sleep during the all day meeting but I do not.

On Thursday morning I'm up at 4am to start a lengthy download at home. During the download I get out for a 5 mile run. The download completes but doesn't solve my computing problem at home. I'm stepping into the shower when the 5:30am alarm starts ringing, so I shut it down and continue with the shower. Because it is early there isn't much traffic on the 405 freeway. In order to make sure that I still remember how to ride the motorcycle and that the motorcycle still runs properly, I get up to 130 mph on the way to work before encountering traffic and slowing to a cool 95 mph to cruise the remaining few miles. This is going to be a great first day back at work!

On Saturday it feels great to get out on the bicycle again. I take 4 minutes off the recent time standard for the ride that is near 30 miles long. Afterwards I have the truck washed and meet Person K_K for lunch. Later we take a nap together and do a few other things, but Person K_K is acting a bit weird. I lift weights and catch up on other activities before picking Person J_VKPI up to go clubbing.

Person J_VKPI is on time again and we head for the club. I run into Person W and give him a keychain from Japan because he's a friend and because he's half Japanese. I also run into Person E_C who I haven't seen for a while and we have a short converstaion. Person M_P is also there and wants to start things up again. But I explain to Person J_VKPI that he had his chance, decided to break things off, and it's time to move forward. I refuse a few offers and do not give offers out because I have a few things that I need to clear up first. I'm laying down for sleep a bit after 3am on Sunday morning.

Near 7 am on Sunday I get out for the Aquarium ride and check email before the German Grand Prix for motorcycles. Person K_K has sent me an email saying that it is time to break up. Okay...um...couldn't he have said that yesterday afternoon in person. I guess not. Later in the day I wax the motorcycle and get out for a good rollerblading session.

Later in the evening Person SB contacts me and I consider whether to work off the stress of Person K_K's decision with some fun with Person SB. Eventually we both decide against it. I'm heading for bed before 10pm.
