Continued Covid-19 Drag

I start Tuesday with a good road bicycle ride. But not before finding a baby bird in the corner of the garage that I gently encourage to get out into the open. When the bird leaves the garage the mother bird immediately comes and lets me know to get away. At the end of the ride I see no sign of the baby bird or its mother. Back at home I trim the roses, water the vegatables, and trim back the sideyard with a weed wacker. During the warm day, but cooler than the last two, I watch some videos and just straighten some things out as I prepare to make a trip to Salvation army as soon as they confirm that they are accepting donations.

On Wednesday I put my head down first thing in the morning and work hard to get my Apache server working properly and to get it to recognize folders and files on Dropbox. I'm close to the Cropxbox task, but not finished. I manage a trip to the grocery store for supplies for the week and a good workout with the weights. I should probably increase the weights that I lift, but I stick with these because they give me a good workout and I don't have any joint pain.

On Thursday and Friday I have good bicycle rides on the mountain bicycle down to the old yacht club and back home. On both days I feel strong though my legs tire a bit on Friday. I run some errands to the library on Thursday for new books and mowing the lawn on Friday. Both days are hot so I tr and stay cool. Though both Saturday and Sunday should be hotter still. At a low level, I continue to toss out old stuff that has not been looked at or used for many years (and has no sentimental value) and re-file things that I still want to keep.

I start Saturday with a good 60 kilometer road bicycle ride - the third ride in three days. Back at home I trim the roses and get cleaned up and watch a rain delayed and very wet qualifying sesiion for the Formula One race in Austria (titled Styrian Grand Prix for the surround area).

Sunday is the fourth bicycle ride in four days. I feel good throughout and only in the last few miles do I tire. I think I am more mentally tired than leg or organism tired. I trim roses and bring blooms in the house and get cleaned up. The Styrian Grand Prix is boring for the top three places but places four through ten are contested throughout the race. The rest of the day is spent relaxing as today is a very hot day.

On Monday I get out to the grocery store for supplies - continuing the pattern of getting there right when they open to try and minimze my exposure to people. After checking the markets, I drive the World Rally Car over to the Khmer smog test station and get the car's smog check. And I talk with the owner who has not been back to Cambodia for 10 years. I drop off checks in the mail on the way home and then get in a good session with the weights. I've increased the reps on the first two sets of each exercise (instead of increasing the overall weights). After a shower I work on my family tree, some financial projections, order more library books online, and then watch some startup and hacker documentaries. Today is cooler - just about the average temperature for this time of year.

I sleep horribly on both Monday night and Tuesday night. Thus I just get out walking on Tuesday morning and out for a mountain bicycle ride to the old yacht club on Wednesday. I continue to trim trees and bushes, take care of the roses, carnations, and vegetables, and catch up on Netflix shows. I also take some time to work on an anonymous IP address web scraper in Python and the basic version appears to work. Though I don't have the super-anonymous TOR version working yet.

Thursday morning shows a good road bicycle ride of 60 kilometers. After getting cleaned up I get three new books from the library and pick up other supplies. I have a slow day since the ride was good but it seems to have taken more out of me than I expected.

I start Friday walking to the grocery store for supplies. When I get home I read the news and the markets and do other little things around the house. At late morning I have a good workout with the weights at the same repetitions as Monday. In the afternoon I look through some free IPTV applications and download a couple just to check them out. To really replace satellite or cable television you have to pay for an IPTV service, but I'm just dipping my toes in the water right now.

On Saturday I'm lazy and just go for an hour walk in the morning. From there I trim the roses, get cleaned up, and watch a fair amount of television. Including qualifying for the Hungarian Formula One race, qualifying for the MotoGP and Moto2 races in Spain, and other Netflix series. And I spend a fair amount of time today, as well as last Thursday, on the phone with a developer whose California Democratic Party website has been hacked. And I spend a fair amount of time making sure she is both following best technical practices as well as keeping her bosses informed as to all of the steps that she is taking to secure the site from hackers.

I start Sunday with a decent 60 kilometer road bicycle ride. I have periods of the ride here I struggle and other periods where I feel good. After getting cleaned up and talking with two different Thai friends, I pick up supplies for the day and watch and wet but drying Hungarian Formula One race. Except for the race for the lead, there are good battles throughout the field and interesting strategies. I then catch up on some small tasks around the house and later watch the MotoGP race from Spain where I already know, before the race starts, that my favorite rider will not participate because he broke his collarbone during Saturday's final qualifying session. It's a wild race due to the very hot conditions in Spain and the favorite runs off the track to last place, climbs all the way back to third, and then has a massive high side at 150 kph to break his arm. The long wait for MotoGP was worth it.

I get out for a good mountain bicycle ride on Monday and trim the roses and watch a fun Moto3 race. I put some plans on paper for things that I need to work on.
