Weird September

This is a panic week at work. People are trying to make a deadline next week and are panicing. Eventually everyone starts cutting corners and making agreements that they would not normally make if the "artificial" deadline was not looming. I contribute where I can and I try to stir up the panic even more by holding my truthfull positions and not budging. After work on Tuesday I get in another good workout with the weights. I realize that since I've lowered the weights and increased the repetitions that I don't have anymore shoulder pain. I guess I should stick with this type of workout for a fair amount of time. On Wednesday after work I go walking for an hour, get cleaned up, and pick up Person Ti_Ca for dinner. We find a Viet-Thai restaurant and eat there. The curry vegetables are great! And I make it home at a reasonable hour to read and get some deep sleep.

I stay away from meetings as much as I can on Thursday and contribute solutions for a number of people's problems. Today I have finally tried the 5 Hour Energy Drink that I've had sitting on my desk for a long time and I just cannot sit still. I just keep looking for things to do because I solve one problem and then try to find another one to solve. On a couple of the problems I've pulled a rabbit out of the hat and solved problems based upon what I've seen in the past. The solution was not based upon book knowledge but years in the trenches. Late on Thursday we have a program-wide all hands meeting that is very depressing. The Senate has zeroed-out our budget and maybe everyone in the auditorium will not have a job. I go home and have a good session with the weights and then do little errands around the house.

On Friday I wake up at 4 am and cannot sleep for the longest time. The next thing that I know it is 6:45 am and time to start my day. I get out for the extended aquarium bicycle ride and feel strong throughout the ride and ride through the drizzle that the weather brings today. After a shower, I get a haircut, buy more vitamins, but more socks, give a blood and urine sample (to re-confirm that my blood parameters are within the acceptable range), and pick up my lawnmower blade from sharpening. When I see the blade that Tanaka-san gives me I think that it is not my blade and I say something, but he says that it is. I rush home and the blade does not fit - it is not my blade. I return and Tanaka-san apologizes profusely and gives me the correct blade. I keep saying it is not a problem and he keeps apologizing. I do some grocery shopping on the way home and now I can relax for the day since most of my errands are complete. After some relaxing I am very tired but I still get out and pull some weeds and mow the front ad back yard. And now I'm really tired. I stagger around the house and get some reading done but eventually I'm in bed a little after 8 pm to read some more and sleep early.

Qualifying for the MotoGP race from Aragon is a disaster as my favorite again struggles. The lower classes are not so bad. I get out for the extended aquarium ride again and enjoy cranking along, watching a boat push off for Catalina Island, and pushing the pace. My legs feel strong again today. After the ride I grab the motorbike and visit Person J_VKPI. We have a 90 minute visit before he has to leave, but he pays back the money that he borrowed before his financial aid for school came in. On the way back home I can see a reflection of the Yamaha YZF-R1 in another car and see that one of the headlight bulbs is burnt out. So another repair task for the short term. Later I pick up Person Ti_Ca from his work and we go home and relax.

Sunday starts with a disappointing MotoGp race from Aragon, Spain. After I've been awake for a while I get a third straight strong extended aquarium ride. There is no lethargy or weakness at all today. After a shower Person Ti_Ca watch some television, do some homewok, and practice some driving. When I get home I watch an exciting Moto2 race from Aragon, Spain and then I watch some football, rwad, and head for early sleep.

On Monday I have a very productive day at work as I work down my list of tasks as well as others. When I get home I have a good session with the weights, water tha lawn, and watch some football. Tuesday is another productive day at work but I leave early to go buy a headlight bulb for the Yamaha YZF-R1. After I buy the bulb I walk to the store and buy some groceries and then install the headlight bulb. The 125cc race from Aragon, Spain is exciting and the podium positions are not determined until the final corner of the final lap.

On Wednesday I wake up before 4 am and as I lay in bed it is obvious that I'm not going to fall back asleep. Thus I get up and take my time and just go on ahead to work. I arrive at my office near 5:30 am on Wednesday morning. The demoralizing week at work continues on Wednesday as people, who were just staffed up to get this project roling, are now being de-staffed since the government has decided to cut out budget. One can tell of the low morale at work. I try to be productive and cheer myself up as much as I can. After work I get in a good workout with the weights despite the lack of sleep. And then I realize, as I'm doing some debugging, that my lawn edger is not edging properly because the blade is too short. I cannot tell if the blade has always been the wrong one or it has been worn down in length by use.

On Thursday everyone at work tries to fight off the threats of our satellite program being cancelled while trying to make progress. After work I am tired and just get a walk to the store for supplies.

Friday is very productive at work as I try to ignore other people's demands and try to put together a deployed satellite model. By the end of the workday I've made a lot of progress and hope to finish it up on Monday. I get in a good workout with the weights and mow the lawn and then relax for the Friday evening.

Saturday starts with nighttime qualifying for the Grand prix of Singapore. My favorite puts in a spectacular lap to claim the pole for Sunday night's race. I get out for the extended aquarium ride and feel rain/dew/drizzle as I get down near the ocean. On today's ride I feel strong again. After a shower I get to the ibrary for another book, get some new wiper blades for the World Rally Car, buy a heart rate monitor, and but some impatiens. When I get home I plant the impatiens and install a new edger blade and the new wiper blades. I try to get down for a mid-afternoon nap but sleep doesn't come. So I relax for the remainder of the day and pick up Person Ti_Ca from his work later in the evening.

Sunday starts with the Grand Prix of Singapore where my favorite driver gets a good start and leads every lap of the race. There are good battles further down in the field to keep the race entertaining. Person Ti_Ca and I spend time together and then we go out driving for more practice. We buy some supplies at the auto parts store to make a few more fixes to his car. And then I drop Person Ti_Ca back at home and I relax for the rest of the day. I feel guilty about not getting out cycling today but I enjoy the extra day of rest.

On Monday I'm enthused to get to work. I put my head down and make a lot of progress on models and simulations and upgrading old tools for the new computing machine that we have. When I leave work I get in a session with the weights where I increase the weight a bit but still use relatively high repetitions. After a quick shower I sit down and continue working away on two things that I didn't finish at work (and want to get done). Before I know it the football game is almost over and it is almost tiem for reading and sleep. But I'm almost finished with the two tasks that I wanted to do.
