Japan, Day 4

After hiking down to the ocean and capturing a few pictures, wehike back to the train station and get ready to head for Nagoya. This time we take train connections that are not rushed and everyone seems a little less stressed.

Kikumi grew up in Nagoya so I get to meet a number of her relatives. Everyone is nice and we have a good laugh when I butcher a Japanese name and change the meaning into a different Japanese word.

After dinner Karl, Fumi (Kikumi's cousin), and I drive to central Nagoya and walk around and look. We stop in at an English Pub at Fumi's request and run into a soccer teammate of Fumi's. In addition to listening to the conversation I focus on the motorcycle race on the big screen television. In addition I ask for help from Karl in being introduced to a ChiChi or two - one of which Karl is sure is interested in me. But Karl says that I'm on my own in this matter and as I'm cranking up the nerve to meet the ChiChi, Fumi's teammates suggest that we go to another club. But we find out as we arrive that the club has a dress code and so we, all dressed in shorts and tennis shoes, cannot get in. Instead we call it an evening and I'm laying down for sleep at 12:30am.
