Japan, Day 2

Jet lag? What jet lag? I've been on a plane for 10 hours, crossed oodles of time zones, and passed the international dateline. What jet lag? I'm up at 6am on Wednesday and ready to go.

On this, my first full day in Japan, the business community recognized the momentous event. The Nikkei hits 10,000 for the first time since last August.

I babysit Ike for 1.5 hours in the morning while Karl and Kikumi have a business meeting. Karl has to continue through lunch so Kikumi, Ike, and I start exploring. Near 1:30pm we meet back up with Karl and I have Ike again. So here I am - a single man pushing a stroller with a 3 year old boy through downtown Tokyo as we esxplore.

Later the four of us move to a cheaper hotel and to a more lively part of town. It turns out that our hotel, Hotel Park Plaza, is near a hotel called Hotel Princess. Both are located on a street in the Unea district where some strip clubs are located and where the hookers openly solicit customers. We, of course, bypass both as we do our exploring.
