Another Weekend

Friday is a quiet day. After finishing work I do the laundry and relax. Because I am tired I don't go run, go walk, lift weights, or anything. A nothing physical activity day. It has been a while since I've had one of these.

I'm up reasonably early on Saturday morning for a bicycle ride. I just do the ~30 mile loop down the Los Angeles river, along the ocean, and back up the San Grabiel river trail. It is wet and misty, so I take corners slow and allow plenty of room for braking as bicycles have no brakes in the rain. I'm soaked when I get home, but it is a good ride. I grab a quick shower and go meet Person K_K. We hang out for a while and then come back to Long Beach to hang out some more. Person K_K has to leave and I return a phone call to Person J_C who is visiting from NY and SF. I pick Person J_C up and he comes over and meets Nopesterini and we talk for a while and then we go down by the ocean. We hang out there for a while and then I drop Person J_C back at his friend's house. We'll try to visit again on Monday night. I grab another shower (The third one today: One after the bicycle ride, one...um...with...um...Person K_K, and this one before clubbing.) and head out to pick up Person J_VKPI. We get to the club a bit early today but it quickly becomes packed with everyone!

There are way more friends and acquaintances present than I can list here, so we'll just hit a few highlights. Person M_P is present and we have a reasonably pleasant conversation. Later during the evening Person M_P hits me with the "I really miss you a lot" whisper in the ear as he sneaks up behind me and grabs hold of me.

How do I respond to this when Person M_P is the one that left me? "My life is very chaotic right now and I am not going to be around much this summer. I need some time to figure a few things out" is what I come up with. It appears to have worked even though Person M_P still wants a ride home. "But you know that I can't really fit three people in the truck."

Person E_F is present - the first time that I've seen him in a long time. He sees me first and grabs hold of me as he passes by with his friends. I don't get a chance to say anything to him. In fact, I don't really get a chance to say anything to him throughout the night. I would say something like, "I have the softest spot in my heart for you, your smile, and your cute little nose. I hope that you call me soon."

At 1am the place is packed so tight that everyone has to push and shove to move around. In walks...someone who has not been seen for a long time. When we see each other we both do quick double-takes and we both require about 5 seconds to recognize each other. It is...Sabrina - the HVAC! We give each other a hug in the midst of the crowd and have a brief discussion. Sabrina picks up on a familiar topic and says, as she pokes and prods various body parts of mine, "You look great! You're bigger in the arms and shoulders and smaller in the waist." I can only deflect the conversation to other topics, but we are both enthusiastic and happy to see each other again after such a long period of time. I am home in bed just after 3am on Sunday morning.

Sunday I get out for the Aquarium ride and it is wet again. I have a water/dirt/roadgrime streak up my back when I get home. I manage to take a few minutes off my normal time - I guess the 4 hours of sleep being overshadowed by Saturday's restored leptin levels, pumped muscle glycogen stores, and pumped glucose levels. Very cool!

After the morning ride I take another shower and notice that I have teeth marks on my back. I have to recall what has transpired and realize that they are from somebody who is not in the diary that I was playing with and teasing at the club on Saturday night. There is no further comment available at press time.

The remainder of Sunday is a fairly lazy day with just a few errands related to roses and camera memory being performed. Person K_K calls and we go have a nice dinner, stop in at a closed Subaru dealer and look at cars through the window, and then go back home. We have good conversations about life, God, family, friends, relationships, and stuff. Person K_K leaves near 1am on MOnday morning.

I...um...like...um...Person K_K.
