Rain

Saturday is a day of rain - hard rain and long rain. I do not get out for a morning bicycle ride because the pavement is wet. I do not get out for a run because I am lazy.

Saturday afternoon is spent entirely with Person T*. Because it is so wet, we spend the entire afternoon laying on the couch and on the floor listening to the rain and talking.

On Saturday night I get out for a 5 mile run and I get absolutely soaked! But it feels good! I needed to go burn off energy and stress and the run did it even if it will take many days for everything to dry out.

There's another set of calls between Ray, Joe, Person H_V, and Person J_VKPI and soon I'm picking up Person H_V to go see Person J_VKPI and get a ride in the BunnyMobile to a club in West Hollywood. We hit two clubs and an afterhours party for a while. We hit one of the usual clubs (which is dead because it is raining) and we hit a different club. The different club has been around for a long time and I hated it in the 80's, I hated it in the 90's, and now I hate it in the 00's. In this club there are 200 people between 18 and 30 years old, 25 between 30 and 40, and 2 greater than 40 years old. Guess which age group I belong to. But I hate the club because they have the no-taste, herd/clone people and music. I'm about to drift off to sleep just before 4am on Sunday morning when I review two of the days offers: "I wish you would make love to me now" and "I bought the contraceptives for us" (The person uses the term contraceptives in place of condoms - it doesn't really matter, does it?)

The 7:15am Sunday morning alarm goes off and I'm out of bed putting the dining room back together, reading the newspaper, and working miscellaneous items. I also notice that there were two phone calls between the time that I went to bed near 4am and when I got out of bed after 7am. I try to ignore them for a while.

As I recover from the previous day I get out for a reasonable bicycle ride, mow the lawn, and settle down for about an hour nap. Because it has recently rained I have to jump over fences with the bicycle in order to enter and exit the Los Angeles river bicycle trail. The three hours of sleep plus the hour nap will have to suffice for the opening ice hockey game of the summer 2003 season at 7:30pm tonight.
