Gimme Shelter!

On Tuesday I squeeze in a 5 mile run before work in order to make the resourcescout meeting afterwards. The resourcescout meeting is the annual meeting so we talk about shareholders, taxes, the products, patents, and new contacts. It is a good meeting.

On the way home from the meeting I'm flipping through the radio stations and I catch the last minute of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" - a good heroin song. It takes me back in time. The song ends and I start flipping through the stations again. I get to the classic rock station (KFossil, KDinosaur, KRust - I don't know) and they are having a "two for Tuesday" period of time. They start off a block of the Rolling Stones with "Waiting On a Friend" and I put up with this song because....because...well, because I know, and I would bet the farm, the entire farm that I know the next song that they are going to play. And, of course, how could I have doubted it, they play "Gimme Shelter". Having heard the song twice in five minutes brings back some heroin cravings. When I get home I consider whether to put on the video of the Stones doing "Gimme Shelter" in concert, but I decide that this would definitely push me over the edge. So I don't do it.

At the last minute on Wednesday we get word that the business trip to Boulder has been mercifully cancelled. Out customers couldn't get out of Washington, DC due to all of the snow. This gives me extra time.

After work on Wednesday I get in a good session with the weights prior to driving down to Orange County to meet Person T_V. Brandon interrupts the drive down for help with his pharmacy school homework and I provide insight and rewording for his use. Person T_V and I have a nice dinner and coffee/bottled water afterwards as we talk about a whole range of subjects. I'm in bed and drifting towards sleep near midnight.
