Oh Yeah?

Tuesday night sees me jumping on the green line and blue line trains after work to head for downtown Los Angeles. After one hour telephone conversations with Person L on Sunday and Monday we've agreed to meet in downtown LA (where Person L works) and wander around. We wander around the area west of Broadway - an area that is less familiar than the King Eddy/Skid Row area. We grab dinner and have fun.

At the end of the night, Person L drives me all the way back to Redondo Beach where my truck is parked - asking "Do you want to drive?". I decline. I don't have enough insurance to cover the potential damage to his BMW Z3.

When I arrive home late on Tuesday night, there is a serious voice mail from the boss wanting something on his desk first thing in the morning. I get up early on Wednesday (to accommodate the boss) and fly to work. What is the wind chill factor when the Don Kott Ford sign says 35F and I'm traveling 110 mph on the 405 (at 5:50am) on a motorcycle? Very cold!

Wednesday afternoon sees me meeting with CSULB social worker faculty members. And another hour long conversation with Person L.

On Thursday the ride to work is warmer - traffic preventing me from exceeding 85 mph even though the Don Kott Ford sign again says 35F.

Thursday night sees another long discussion with the KM. We agree to geek-out on Friday night in order to automate more data processing tasks. And there's another hour long conversation with Person L.

Friday night I meet the KM at a coffeehouse in Silverlake. They are having live music with a wannabe folk star who mentions a song that he's going to play from Elvis. "Who?", I ask out loud. "Play something from this century or this millenium." I get looked at funny by the folk star's supporters. The KM and I geek-out with laptop computers as we write Excel macros and Matlab m-files to process muscle force and EMG data taken during diving maneuvers. I'm home in bed by midnight.

Saturday morning sees a good, though freezing, cranking 35 mile bicycle ride. Prior to a meeting in Long Beach with Person L. Person L and I have lunch in Belmont Shores, walk along the ocean and look at shells, watch the bright orange/red/purple sunset, and head for home to take a nap. During the...um...nap, the landline phone rings 3 times, the cell phone rings 5 times, and 1 person knocks on the front door. I try hard to convince Person L that this is not a typical Saturday night. Person L is unconvinced and assumes that each call or visit is from one of the many members of my personal concubine.

Sunday morning sees another good 35 mile bicycle ride with the 18 year old neighbor. He takes it easy on me today. I watch the Super Bowl and am happy with the results. Happy with results and the mountains of chocolate chip cookies and gallons of milk that I consume.
