I certainly look out of place at Zed's records. Everyone else is wearing black leather, has chains, miscellaneous piercings, and patches for their favorite punk bands. And I walk in in jeans and a t-shirt to stares. Purchasing the new CD by The Donnas helps out my standing and my brief conversation about the Ramones, the Dead Kennedys, and concussions (after head injuries, that is) with the cashier who is nursing his own head injury gets me on "the ins" with everyone.

A brief visit to the home of the boss and his wife finds a slightly different discussion. We talk about roses and rose food, carnations, placement of cat food, possums in the neighborhood, and, of course, EOS battery random vibration environments. Except for the latter, I enjoy the conversation.

Cycling, home improvement, and personal activities of the past few days find me exhausted and I take solace in The Library coffehouse - reading the newspaper and other things. I refuse offers and stare at a Chi-Chi who arrives with a teddy bear backpack - a backpack in the shape of a teddy bear with its shoulders connected to the shoulder straps. Out of the backpack comes a notebook computer and a cell phone. The Chi-Chi sees me staring and we smile at each other. I leave, knowing that I have enough trouble in my life as it is.

My friend Joe comes over at 11pm and as we talk about work and school, Sweetie calls. Sweetie accepts my invitation to go to a fund raiser but then is confused when I announce that the day is NEXT Saturday, not tonight. Sweetie has to get back to me regarding availability.
