Another Weekend

Long Beach Grand Prix weekend. I am excited! After sleeping poorly throughout the night, I get up at 4:30 am and get ready to go. Peter and Kim pick me up at 8am and we take the train to the track. I am broken emotionally, but I try to put things out of my mind. Having made 111 days sober, I put the beer tents and margarita stands out of my mind and focus on the cars.

After going home, I try to rest up for my 11pm ice hockey game in Culver City. Both teams show up with very few skaters and everybody gets lots of ice time and is very tired by the time the game ends at 12:15am on Sunday morning. We lose the game, though I play well and score a goal. (The game was us, the last place team, against the next to last place team. We confirm our positions in the league.)

Things are looking better as the ACTEX flight experiment data that I process shows vibration suppression of a 150 Hz mode that we had never damped (or attempted to damp) before.

I put my contact lenses in and get ready to play a 3pm ice hockey game in Torrance. For a team that I don't normally play for, I am filling in for a few of their players who are missing for their last game of the season.
