My Night

After coming home and seeing the reports on the news of the current military crisis, I decide that I cannot take it anymore. After years of yuppie apothy and cynicism, I am feeling the urge to get involved and destabilize governments again. I have to get away.

I drive west. (Any sane person will tell you to head west when you are confused.) I stop at the liquor store at Pacific Coast Highway and Pacific in Long Beach. I buy a bottle of water and stand out front. Observing.

By the time that I leave the liquor store at 2am and decide that it is safe to return home, I have also received many offers. Ranging from "I can get you anything you want" to "What are you looking for" to a wide variety of drugs and sexual acts to fake identification to a paint job for my truck to an offer to purchase a gun.

I return home and turn on the television. I watch the news of the ongoing crisis in eastern europe. I have a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of Jerseymaid, Vitamins A & D, Fat Free Milk. My picture is NOT on the container. I am relieved.
