My Weekend

I wake up in a strange bed. And, after pulling a lampshade off of my head, I am able to see. There is a bed next to me with three women in it. And there is a guy in my bed. I realize that I am in a hotel, so I get up to take a shower. After finishing my shower, everybody is gone from the room. I do a quick search and find that my wallet is still here - and all of the credit cards and cash are in it.

Realizing that this is a bargain, I walk with her to the front office and give her my credit card. She takes it, runs it through the magnetic stripe reader attached to the cash register, waits a moment, and then goes ballistic. "This credit card was way over the limit last night and it is still way over the limit." She grabs a pair of scissors and starts cutting it up. She holds the card near MY eye level and she makes diagonal cuts. And she adds "The card is still above the limit. I like to make diagonal cuts of the credit card so that I make sure and cut across the bit/byte boundaries on the magnetic stripe."

A few minutes of driving brings me back to reality. I had left Los Angeles on Friday afternoon because I had heard about the grand opening of a new Home Depot and a new truck stop near Bakersfield. I couldn't miss the grand opening of a new truck stop near Bakersfield. And my roommates (for the night) must have been other Home Depot/truck stop groupies. After driving a few minutes, I realize that I am headed north - away from Los Angeles. I get off at the next exit and turn around. Only to get off a few exits south and ask directions to the ne wtruck stop. Seeing that I don't recall its layout, its design, or its ambience, I realize that I HAVE TO VISIT.

I realize that I am in trouble for what I must have done last night. I try to drive through the truck stop but find the way blocked.
